A new History and Heritage article written by the late Audrey Featherstone about Marple's connection to Field Marshall Montgomery has been added to the main site this afternoon:

"Field Marshall Montgomery is not a name usually connected with Marple local history". I was told about the Montgomery connection when I was a school girl about 50 years ago so it isn't such a secret. Think I mentioned it in another thread a few months back.

The other interesting thing that was new to me was the connection between Dick Sheppard and the Carvers.
