Many years ago, my wife left our children in the car, went in to pay for petrol.
A very polite lady decided to drive her car into the side of our car, and move a petrol pump at the same time. It was an automatic, she blamed the car !
Fluke, yes, but very scary, kids in car with petrol abound.

I see this almost everyday outside Somerfield and often outside Iceland too. Not only does it look completely unprofessional but it gives a bad impression to customers.

It doesn't bother me.  If they can't have a quick smoke outside the shop, where can they go?

You are right PP very dangerous.someone could drive off with them.Depending on the time it takes to pay for your fuel the car could be several miles away!
The length of time it takes to pay for petrol in Somerfield the kids could have held their 21st birthday parties in the car!

If your children are properly trained and you don't leave the keys in the (locked) car there would not seem to be a problem. If they aren't properly trained then they shouldn't be left off the leash anywhere.

(And yes, I probably have more experience with children than most of you have had hot dinners. I know from whence I speak!)

As soon as I read the first reaction to my posting ,  I realised that it had the potential to turn into a bun fight, reason being  why I have not elaborated on my post  and give my reasons as to why I wouldnt .

Bun fights on here seem common place of late,  and I just dont want to go there, so I shall leave it at that , people will, and can do what they think is right for thier children, and I will do what I think is right for mine .

No offence  to anyone , I should have asked admin to delete it, it was off subject anyway.

Well do what u are meant to do, and lock the car while u are paying for your fuel (or is that to easy).

I was trying to work that out too,Stockport Road, isnt it more unsafe to have them on the garage forecourt than in the car. Its a bit like saying dont leave a adult in the car.
