I'd also recommend Whiting & Mason - used them many times.

I can second the recommendation for Whiting & Mason. I've dealt with several of their staff and always received good service. It may also be useful to check out the Good Solicitors Guide.

That's a bit of an open question. Depends what you want - are you selling your house, getting divorced, suing someone etc. I don't expect you to answer that question here!

Neil Gunson at Whiting and Mason was top notch when we moved house a few years ago.
