Far be it from me to get the topic back on track (ahem!), but I go to Portland Wines quite a bit for locally-brewed bottle beers - Bollington, Tatton and Red Willow (I like to support, and enjoy the beers from, local breweries) - as well as the more mainstream national and international ones. They've got quite a selection, certainly enough to keep me happily entertained. It's also one of the few places in the locality where I've been able to find Blue Moon - yay! On the flipside, if they stocked Samuel Smith's I would be in Seventh Heaven: 'Pure', in particular, is a very quaffable drink.
There are a few beers which, alas, I have not had the courage to sample. Not because of their fearsomely-high ABV; rather, because they are on a shelf at such a precarious downward angle that I daren't select any bottles from it in case the whole lot comes crashing down. And actually, thinking about it, the whole shop could really do with a bit of a tidy-up.
I'm not a wine drinker, otherwise I would - as recommended earlier - be putting a fair amount of business in the direction of the Marple Wine Club. Maybe they could offer non-wine products for beer-heads like me?
