Judging by the Co-op and the rate that the Sunday Times seems to sell out at, the invasion has already happened Dave.

Then they'll have to do what many before them have had to do Barbara, move out and live in a place that they can afford to live in until they can afford to live in Marple, then they can come back if they wish. Young people don't have a right to live here, or anywhere for that matter just because their parents live/d here.

Yes, Dave - but that is not going to help our young people who would like to stay in Marple and can't afford to.

Pity they are giving away our little secret - the last thing we need is an invasion of Sunday Times readers.  On the other hand, it could be good news for property values......   ;D

Marple has been rated 9th best place  to live where you can escape to the country in today's (24.03.13) Sunday Times.
Article reads:"First the canals, then the railways, brought hundreds of Victorian visitors to Marple on bank holidays and Sundays, all "seeking fresh air and the beauty of Marple's Roman Lakes". Today, at first glance, this town near Stockport is viewed as a comfortable south Manchester commuter haven, albeit one on the edge of the Peak District National Park and the Goyt Valley. It is a walkers' delight, but there's plenty on offer for cyclists, too. Nearby, the Etherow Country Park covers 240 acres - perfect for bird-watching and nature study - and is home to the Etherow Country Park Sailing Club
WOULD SUIT: Professional types who hanker for fresh air ( and have strong legs for steep hills)."

But not good if you want a decent supermarket ...
