Well, Bowden Guy, I certainly wouldn't see it as my place to comment on that, especially on a public forum. It isn't of any concern to us, and the fact that we are lucky to have such lovely neighbours is what actually counts here...

I was referring to the nice array of car tyres and sundry machinery......

Ah, Bowden Guy - I think I might just have a clue to your identity! (And what do you mean about our neighbours doing something similar? They have a lovely garden! :))

Let's hope your neighbours do something similar next door, LG?

This morning Evergreen Landscaping Ltd's web site has been updated with details of this project including photos of the transformation of LG's garden:

If anyone is looking for someone to landscape their new garden or maintain an existing garden, I can highly recommend David Andrews of Evergreen Landscaping in Marple Bridge. Tel. 0161 427 4490 / 07791 833143. Having recently moved here, the 'garden' we inherited was actually a muddy wasteland. David and Steve cleared and prepared the ground, laying new turf to form a lovely lawn edged with borders ready for planting. They also dug out and prepared ground in our driveway and planted two new hedges. Additionally, Steve cleared a lot of weeds from our patio even though we hadn't asked/paid them to do this. The work was done quickly and efficiently, and they started a couple of days earlier than planned to fit in with better weather. They gave me excellent advice on how to maintain the new lawn and hedges, and also helpfully recommended a company for some other work we need doing (cavity wall ties). The company in question gave us the best quote, saving us a lot of money, so David's local knowledge has also really helped us. There are a lot of so-called 'landscapers' out there, but if you want someone trustworthy and experienced, who genuinely cares about what they do, I recommend Evergreen. If anyone wants more information they are welcome to contact me.
