Ring o' Bells Quiz Nights for Friends of the Park [13, 20 & 27 February 2014]

A busier quiz night at the Ringer last night raised £65.50, leaving us a desperate £3.50 short of that four figure target!

Thanks to regular Quiz Team "The Kitty", who kindly donated £3.50 to make up the shortfall, the Ring o' Bells Quiz Nights have now raised a fantastic £1,000 towards the Marple Skatepark Project.

So a very big thank you to Mark and Anita at the Ringers for their superb support of Friends of Marple Memorial Park!

A quieter night but still £49 raised for the Skatepark at last night's quiz.

Last of current 3 quizzes is next Thursday 27 February. Need a really good turnout to break that 4 figure total but we'll be close.

A bump to remind everyone that the first of three more quizzes at The Ring o' Bells for the Skatepark Development Project start this Thursday 13th February.

The Ringers has raised a brilliant £819 for the project so far and a really good turn-out over the next 3 weeks could turn that into a 4 figure sum, which would be fantastic!

Mark and Anita at the Ring o' Bells have kindly set another 3 Quiz Night dates for friends of Marple Memorial Park.

That's Thursdays 13, 20 & 27 February starting at 9pm (better to get there about 8.30 to ensure a seat).

The quiz costs £1 per person to enter, all of which goes to the supported cause. There is also an "Open the Box" competition that costs £1 per ticket with 50% going to the cause and 50% to the cash prizes. This has 12 boxes and a number of them will have £50 cash prizes with some other good prizes too and a few boobies!

The first prize for the quiz is 8 free drinks to be consumed on the night or the following week. The second prizes varies but is usually a bottle of wine or 4 bottled drinks.

The quiz comprises 40 general knowledge questions, a music round with 10 tracks and a picture round (or dingbats that drive you nuts).

There are handicap / bonus points based on the size of your team (4 in a team is standard) and there are also penalty points for previous winners and runners up to level the playing field a little more.

It's a good fun night and has raised lots of money for local causes over the years - well worth supporting and especially when it's for your local park!
