The IWPS has faced many challenges since it was set up by volunteers in 1958 amid fears of closure of the canal network. Since 1968 the main aim of the IWPS has been the restoration and operation of Bugsworth Basin. The current challenge is to secure the long-term future of Bugsworth Basin; a challenge facing many volunteer organisations when projects are completed. A thought provoking topic from an experienced and inspiring leading volunteer.
