I thought I would bump this post up again as today I was talking about pigeons, I have sent my friend my pigeon poems that I have written on here.

She says I have too much time on my hands!!

Rachael you are a nutty fruitcake! '<img'>
Orangewhip you try so hard, but Rachael always pips you at the post. ''
My challenges are to easy! I need to think of a new one!
Hows about....handbury's building this time, see if you can paint a nice picture of it?
I'm going to scratch my head a bit and see if I can think of a better theme!  '<img'>   so I will leave you with the Handbury's challenge for now!  ':alien:'

A Little pigeons Nest!

Last year I had a little nest
It was inside a college
Where people go to study books
And learn some pigeon Knowledge

This year I went to find my bed
Instead I found some houses
With gardens with big washing lines
And on them "Alans trousers"

Where had it gone my little bed
I thought Alan was  my mate
Hes bought a house, on hibbert lane
I'll get him, if I  squatt and wait

So out he stepped  old Alan
Out of his brand  new door
He took one step and skidded
Upon my poop, left on the floor.

Inspired by Rachaels use of the rhyming couplet I composed the following, loosely based on the proposed housing at Hibbert Lane:

Shielded from the city of Manchester,
Nestles a village called Marple,
Which once had green fields and historic buildings,
But fell into a right debacle

Bulls that dozed in inner city sites,
Suddenly awoke and sought pastures new,
Ground their way down the motorway,
And destroyed a place beloved by me and you

History gone and Lego bricks go up,
Marple's face scarred and grey,
We are left dancing helplessly to cement mixers,
As nature and beauty pass forever away.

Progress always involves decline.

Well what can I say?  You amaze me Rachael  '<img'>  Are you a real poet I wonder as you have the flow,  '<img'>
Alan@marple will be so pleased his message has amounted to such a response.

Also well done orangewhip   '<img'> but Racheal wins hands down!

Next challenge .......    A poem about intended houses on the Ridge site?  maybe mrs pigeon could have an adventure there?

I shall be waiting  ''
