Specifically for chess, we do have a Marple Chess Club:

hi there, I must be really late to the party, but does anyone know if anything was done around board games? is there a club or something?
I am going to move in Marple towards the end of Jan and board games are one of my hobbies, would be nice to join a group of people who has the same interest, especially in a new place where I dont know anyone :)

Hi Vikkio

I've just seen this thread and I think it's a brilliant idea, my son is learning chess at the moment, a group like this would be of real benefit to people who want involvement. I've messaged a local business owner today to see if they could host, when I get a reply I will re-post on here. Even if the answer is 'no' I think it's worth further research.

Kind regards

Someone make a Marple Monopoloy board... obviously minus the free parking square, and no houses on the Sorting Office for around another 99 years.

One of the cards should say "Go to jail. Go directly to jail. Do not pass Go. Do not collec...... ah never mind, you've got bail, go and rob more houses."

Yep I'd be keen.

Settlers Of Catan!  8)

Great! I'm happy to see some interest! We would just need 2-3 more people and we could get a group going :-)

Settlers of Catan would be good.

Some of the games I've got that might interest people are:
Ticket to Ride
Castle Panic
Carcassone
Cards Against Humanity
King of New York
Munchkin
Scotland Yard
Cluedo
Plus many others (board games and card games)

Hi there,

I was just wondering if there were any board game groups in Marple? Looking for weekday evenings.

If not, is there anyone who would be interested in a board game group? Both traditional and non-traditional games.

Thanks,
Cheryl
