Flower Festival at St Martin's Low Marple

After 9 months of planning and preparation, Romiley Floral Art Guild led by chairman David Mason have produced a stunning display of floral arrangement to mark 150 years of worship at St Martin's Church on Brabyns Brow in Marple. The display includes works by Chelsea Flower Show medal winners and reflects the colours and natural materials used in the Arts and Craft movement of which St Martin's is a leading example in the North West.

The Festival is open today, Friday 16 June, until 1630, and then on Saturday from 1030 until 1630 and Sunday from 1200 until 1630

Here's just a small taster of what's on display:

Flower Festival to mark 150 years of worship on Brabyns Brow

2017 marks the 150th anniversary of worship on the site of St Martin's Church. The original services were held in a temporary building whilst the present church was being built and one of the events which are planned for this year is a Flower Festival to be held from Thursday 15 June until Sunday 18 June 2017. The theme of the Festival will be Arts and Crafts and the flower arrangements will be planned and completed by members of the Romiley Floral Art Guild. The Heritage Trust will be supporting the event: it promises to be one of the highlights of the year.
