Roadsworks around Marple [Monday 20th March to approx 3 April 2017]

Here are some roadworks that may cause problems getting in and out of Marple via Bredbury / Romiley:

1st - 9th April: Stockport Road West, Bredbury

Contractors working on behalf of National Grid Gas will be undertaking gas main replacement works on Stockport Road West, at the junction with The Drive.  These works will require the use of temporary traffic signals from 1st April 2017 to 9th April 2017.

Commencing 3rd April: Bredbury Green and Romiley Ward

Stockport Council will be carrying out a rolling programme of carriageway surface treatments in the Bredbury Green and Romiley Ward. The works will be carried out by their Alliance Partner Colas Limited. The work is scheduled to commence from Monday 3rd April 2017, weather permitting.

29th – 31st March: Glossop Road, Marple Bridge

Contractors working on behalf of Stockport Council will be undertaking hedge and retaining wall repairs, following a road traffic accident, on Glossop Road, Marple Bridge, between the junctions with Cote Green Road and Sandhill Lane.  These works will require the use of temporary traffic signals from 29th March 2017 to 31st March 2017, between the hours of 9.30am to 3.30pm only.

The ongoing resurfacing works on Glossop Road will also continue, however, the disruption caused will be monitored.

21st March: Marple Road, Offerton

Contractors working on behalf of United Utilities will be undertaking works to replace a manhole frame and cover on Marple Road, Offerton, between the junctions with Hall Pool Drive and Brookside Avenue.  These works will require the use of temporary traffic signals on 21st March 2017, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm only.

20th March - 3rd April: Bradshaw Crescent, Marple

Stockport Council will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing works on the full length of Bradshaw Crescent, the works will be carried out by their Alliance Partner J Cooney Ltd. 

Work has been scheduled to commence on Monday 20th March 2017, taking up to two weeks to complete, weather permitting.

20th March - 3rd April: Winnington Road, Marple

Stockport Council will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing works on part of Winnington Road, from Mini Roundabout to Cul De Sac, the works will be carried out by their Alliance Partner J Cooney Ltd.

Work has been scheduled to commence on Monday 20th March 2017, taking up two weeks to complete, weather permitting.

20th March - 3rd April: Glossop Road, Marple Bridge                                                                                

Stockport Council will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing works on Glossop Road from approximately Sandhill Lane to Dog Clough. The works will be carried out by their Alliance Partner J Cooney Ltd.

Work is scheduled to commence 20th March 2017 (dates may change subject to weather), taking approximately 2 weeks to complete, weather permitting between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

The work will be carried out using temporary traffic signals and a convoy system with a 10mph speed.  It will also be necessary to close Sandhill Lane for part of the work whilst the resurfacing work takes place across the junction, during this time a signed diversion will be in operation.
