As we are with BT, we registered with BT Call Protect as, like everyone else, we were fed up of nuisance or unsolicited calls.  Call protect is a free service for BT customers.

This system seems to work but we haven't blocked 'number withheld' calls as they could be from a hospital. We very rarely get any unsolicited calls now.

I work from home and unsolicited calls were the bane of my life. I was getting up to 20 calls per day, either robots or scam calls. In the end I invested in a call blocker, this one specifically https://www.cprcallblocker.com/. Once I trained it, I get perhaps one per week.

You can buy phones that block these sort of calls i recieve some calls like this and im ex directory .

We're registered with the telephone preference service but it doesn't seem to be worth a bean! I wouldn't expect it to stop scam calls but it doesn't seem to stop anybody!

Had a call today from an Asian accented voice claiming to be BT Technical Department and saying that my broadband was going to be disconnected for 3 months.

The lady must have sensed the conversation was going nowhere (I'm not with BT) and hung up before explaining what she wanted from me.

Don't be fooled by these calls if you are with BT!
