Hi Eric,

The simple answer is yes. The more detailed answer is that main site address has always been .com but we also own the .co.uk, .info and .net domains. Normally the first three will all work indentically because the .co.uk and .info domains are parked on (or point at) the .com address. This means they all actually fed by the same web space. The .net is different, although the root links back to .com - this is where we host the Virtual Tour.

The 'fix' of the forum problem involved moving the site to a new server but only the .com address was moved to begin with. The other two remained pointing at the old server until everything was sorted out.

When they've finished moving everything around all three domains should work exactly the same again, however it is best if you use the .com for favourite links as it will (or should) always be the first one to work properly in similar circumstances.

There is likely to be a little more disruption as I understand we will be subject to another server move in the near future. It's possible this is something to do with the .co.uk not working at present. I'll advise about this when I know more.

I had a problem accessing the website using my usual bookmarks today. I did a search on google, and notice you have gone form a "co.uk" to a "com" - is that related to the "fix"? '<img'>

The software problem that caused the board to break is still not properly understood, but it has been resolved by moving the whole site to a new server and re-building the database "manually".

This is why the text in some of the posts may be slightly corrupted (as CTREP noticed in the Middlewood Way Topic).

As far as I can tell everyone should still be able to log-in using their old names and passwords, but if anyone has any problems please do let me know.

Thanks again to Steve at Jigsaw Hosting for sorting these problems out for us and I hope you will all become active again now that we're back up and running.

The recent problems with the forum have been fixed by Jigsaw Hosting late last night and I didn't find out until this morning. I'll tell you more about the problems later but I'd just like to thank Steve at Jigsaw for all his efforts on our behalf.

The Marple Website has been off-line for approximately 20 hours, since around 10.00 pm last night until about half an hour ago. This was caused by a "denial of service attack" on the server that hosts the site.

Hopefully this has now been fully resolved and normal service can be maintained.
