News on Marple Santa Dash 2019 from Romiley and Marple LionsEarly as it may seem, here is an update on this year's Lions Club Christmas activities:
https://www.marple.website/community-projects/marple-santa-dash-2019.htmlThe update includes the impact of Dobbies taking over Marple Garden Centre and the reluctant introduction of an increased "On the Day" Registration fee. This is aimed at reducing the number of people who leave registration until the last moment when they arrive at the event, which was a particular problem for the organisers last year and the cause of frustration for participants.
Also, Marple Santa Dash is now open for Registrations:Marple Santa Dash is a fun run for all the family starting at 12 noon from Marple Memorial Park, finishing at Marple Garden Centre where you will be greeted with a mince pie and a cup of tea. Children will receive a present from Santa and everyone wearing a Santa Suit will get a free ride on the miniature railway. Transport is provided back to the Memorial Park.
The advanced Registration Fee is £10.00, which covers the cost of your Santa Suit and also helps the Lions to organise this event, whilst continuing their support of worthy causes locally, nationally and internationally. One such worthy cause is Kidneys for Life.
Please note that if you register on the day of the event the fee will be increased to £15 (and the extra £5 treated as a direct donation to Kidneys for Life).
