Want to make roads in Marple safer and easier to walk and cycle?Please join Marple residents at the Navigation Hotel at 7pm on Tuesday the 23rd April for the first meeting of a community group to discuss how we can help people to walk and cycle more for short journeys in Marple. This is part of a Greater Manchester wide project being steered by the Mayor and Chris Boardman.
The group is EXTREMELY keen to have parents of all the local schools involved, especially those involved in the road 'issues' on Elmfield Drive and Bowden Lane.
We will be looking for input on issues such as suggestions for pedestrian crossings, traffic lights, traffic islands, wider pavements, bike paths, bollards, regulated parking, traffic calming and any other issue or suggestions that might make it easier, safer and more pleasant to walk and ride around Marple.
