2020 is time for Mellor Open Gardens again!
This event has run every four years now since 1992 and become a part of many people's calendar.
Every four years about 20 private gardens in Mellor are open to the public for the day, some new, some returners, this year the date is July 5th 2020.
You can park your car for the day and forget about it because there is a free jump on jump off bus (one or more) travelling the area all day taking visitors to the gardens of their choice. At the top of the village is the community centre offering a range of refreshments all day. In another location in the village the primary school is also offering a range of refreshments all day.
Admission to each garden is by a programme with all garden detailsthat will be available to purchase locally on the day or in advance. Details of how to purchase in advance will be available at a later date. A programme to admit one adult will cost £8 in advance or £10 on the day children under 16 years of age are free.
The purpose of this event is to support Cancer Research UK and Mellor Community Centre. The committee fund raise from an early stage to cover the costs of the day by local sponsorship and gifts.
