As far as I can remember the Gas Showroom was in the row of shops from what was the post office to the Tai restaurant. My father bought the business but not the premises from Teddy Clarke (Plumber and Electrician) who previously owned the shop prior to the Gas Board taking it over when he retired. He also took the phone number which was Marple 465. The four hundred and sixty fifth phone in Marple.
