Marple Platinum Jubilee Party: Market Street & Derby Way: Friday 3 June, 12noon until Late!A Marple Platinum Jubilee Party is being organised for Friday 3rd June on Market Street and Derby Way by a group of local volunteers.
Not every street will have an organised street party and they didn’t want anyone to not be able to join in with the festivities.
They are planning the biggest Street Party Marple has ever seen with buntings galore!
The daytime will be a huge bring and share buffet, bring a chair and a plate, some food to share and pitch your seat so you can see the stage.
Entertainment will start around 12noon and will finish around 5pm - something for everyone!
Local choirs, brass bands, sing along and more. Patriotic face painting is encouraged and will also be available on the day!
At 6pm the vibe will shift as the tables are cleared away and street food vendors set up.
The evening will see folk dancing the night away with local bands - live music, DJ’s and food! All the bars will be open and alcohol should only be purchased from the bars.
The group wants to make this a party to remember! In order to make this happen, they need to raise money so they can hire tables, the staging and lighting etc. any funds left at the end will be donated to local charities, which they will ask for local opinion on. Let’s make sure no one is alone and encourage all - young and old to come and celebrate this once in a lifetime event!
