Marple Adventure Film Festival is back for 2022

They’re back with evening shows at 8pm on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th October 2022 showcasing some of the very best adventure films of the year – this year’s films have won Awards at similar Mountain Film or Outdoor film festivals, and they are just the tonic for breaking up the cold nights and giving ideas of how you can challenge yourself, do something extraordinary, and live your life to the Max!

In 2022 there were films from people testing their endurance on a one-man Tour de France, jaw-dropping skiing from the summit to the valley floor in the Alps, Ultra-Ultra running which turns into a World Record, incredible mountain biking, sailing, and, most-excitingly, a film from someone who visited MAFF and recorded their own adventure – amongst other films with breath-taking scenery, challenges, or adventure!

All complemented with draft beer, a full bar, bar snacks, and some food whipped up by GirlGuiding Marple (last year they had a Mexican theme food offering).

It’s still just £10 a ticket - this is all for charity: all proceeds go to 1st Marple Scout Group.

For more information or to go ahead and book (this is a ticket-only event), head to: www.MarpleAdventureFilmFest.co.uk

Please spread the word, invite your friends and family, and hope to see you there for an adrenaline-pumped evening of adventure film!

The Marple Website is delighted to be a sponsor of MAFF again this year!

Marple Adventure Film Festival 2022:

Marple Adventure Film Festival is a charity event which will showcase some incredible short adventure films to provide inspiration, motivation and entertainment in equal measure!

This year’s films have won Awards at similar Mountain Film or Outdoor film festivals, and are just the tonic for breaking up the cold nights and giving you ideas of how you can challenge yourself, do something extraordinary, and live your life to the Max!

Our films have been created by intrepid adventurers who are pushing their limits.  In 2021 we had films from people testing their endurance with a run from Lands End to John o Groats in under ten days, the nerves with trying new tricks in the notoriously dangerous world of Base Jumping, finding ways to cope with Lockdown, hitting the local peaks in any weather, of the extraordinary courage to attempt an ascent of the Old Man of Hoy, when completely blind – amongst other films with breath-taking scenery, challenges, or adventure!

Tickets are just £10, with all proceeds going to 1st Marple Scout Group! Buy them here: https://www.marpleadventurefilmfest.co.uk/

WHEN IS IT?

Friday 14th & Saturday 15th October 2022.

Each showing will display the same films, and the estimated showtime is 2 hours 15 including two short intervals. There will be a fully licensed bar which will be serving some fine local craft ale, as well as hot food, cakes and snacks available throughout the night (TBC – in 2021 it was Chilli and Nachos).

Evening shows: Doors open 7pm, first film commences 8pm, lights out by 11pm

WHERE IS IT?

The event is taking place at Marple Scout Hut (see map) – where kids have been inspired to get outdoors, try something new, and make friends for over 110 years!

IT’S FOR CHARITY?

Any funds raised from the Marple Adventure Film Fest will be reinvested into Scouting in Marple, to help us inspire the next generation of adventurers.
