5 Coronations: Marple Local History Society Exhibition in Marple LibrarySaturday 22 July - Saturday 5 August 2023Starting today, an exhibition compiled by Marple Local History Society in Marple Library on the 5 Coronations since 1902.
Viewable during normal library open hours (not Open Plus)
Summer ExhibitionEvery summer, the Society mounts an exhibition in Marple Library. New Chairman, Jackie Collins, introduces this year’s offering.
Every year the Society aims to make an exhibition available in Marple Library to show local residents the range of material that is held in archives. In 2022 the choice of subject was very straight forward; it was the centenary anniversary of the time when Marple Memorial Park was given by the Carver family to the people of Marple.
In 2023 the choice was equally easy as the first coronation for over seventy years was held so it seems a good time to demonstrate the range of material and memories held in the archive relating to coronations from the 1902 coronation of Edward VII and Princess Alexandra to the present day.
The exhibition will be in the upstairs room in the Library from Saturday 22nd July to Saturday 5th August.
We hope you enjoy viewing the exhibition and would welcome any feedback you have to give.
