Ring o' Bells Fun Quiz

A record-breaking £132 was raised towards Scleroderma Research at last night's quiz, setting up the opportunity to achieve more than £200 for a single cause over two quizzes for the first time ever. It just needs a good turnout on Wednesday 21 July!

The Higher & Lower Game jackpot stays at £100 for at least another week after defeating 3 contestants once again last night.

It was one of the best attended quizzes so far at the Ringers last Wednesday and a fantastic £100 was raised towards the Iron Bridge Restoration.

The Higher and Lower game continues to torment participants and once again the jackpot prize eluded three attempts to win it.

The next quiz on Wednesday 14th July will raise money for Scleroderma Research. Linda Goldman, who used to work behind the bar at the Ringers, was diagnosed with this debilitating disease a couple of years ago and she has been in and out of hospital on a regular basis since then. All being well, Linda will be at the quiz on Wednesday and we hope there will be a great turn out to help this worthy cause.

The quiz last Wednesday raised a further £62 for Riding for the Disabled, taking the total to £127 over the two weeks.

This Wednesday 7th July it's the Iron Bridge Restoration Project that will benefit again.

Higher and Lower Games still not won, so the £100 jackpot is still to play for.

Last night's quiz raised £65 for Riding for the Disabled and the Higher and Lower Game wasn't won, so the £100 prize carries over.

There will be NO quiz next week if England win tonight as it will be the Semi-Final - so let's hope there's no quiz until the 7th of July!

Well scratch that - the quiz is back on for Wednesday 30 June!

A great turnout for last night's Iron Bridge quiz, which was filmed by the Community Channel for a programme they are making about people in the community who are trying to save their local heritage. It's set to go out in conjunction with the second series of Restoration on the BBC this summer. There will be more about this on the web site in the near future.

Back to the quiz, and £79.55 was raised towards the Iron Bridge fund, taking the total raised at the Ringer's to over £1900  '<img'>

The Higher & Lower Game jackpot of £100 was won last night by Gill, my wife. Trouble is she was playing for someone else who had to leave early '<img'>

Nevermind, the second pot was already complete and a third one started. So at next week's quiz, for Riding for the Disabled, the jackpot prize will still be £100 ''

Due to a slight change of plan the Iron Bridge quiz has been moved to this week. So last Wednesday was for the Friends of Marple Memorial Park again and another £58.77 was raised, giving a two-quiz total of £117.27.

The Higher and Lower game ended every time with a pair (you get nothing for a pair....) so the jackpot remains at £100!

The quiz last Wednesday raised £58.50 for Friends of Marple Memorial Park. The next quiz will be for the Iron Bridge on Wednesday 9th June.

The Higher and Lower Game jackpot is still £100, surely it must go soon!

Another great quiz last night, which raised £79 towards Stepping Hill's Intensive Care Unit - making a total of £133.50 over the two weeks. Next quiz on Wednesday 2nd June is for the Friends of Memorial Park.

The Higher and Lower £100 jackpot remains elusive and the second pot contiunes to build. Let's hope we have one of those exciting play 'til it's won nights soon!

The quiz on the 19th raised £54.50 towards Stepping Hill's Intensive Care Unit. Next week's quiz on the 26th will be for the same cause.

The Higher and Lower prize continues to elude those lucky enough to win a try, so the jackpot remains at £100!

The exact amount from last Wednesday's quiz was £71.50 towards the Iron Bridge Restoration.

Thank you very much to Andy Glossop for standing in as Quiz Master while Peter and I were away on the Sponsored Walk and thanks also to Andy for the very generous loan of his Motor Home.

The Higher and Lower Game wasn't won, so the Jackpot will remain at a healthy £100 for the next quiz on 19th May, while the next pot builds up.

Thanks to everyone who took part last night. Not sure of the exact total raised, but I think it was over £75 to add to the ironbridge fund. '<img'>
Things will be back to Normal next week- Peter will be your quizmaster once again.

Another £58 was raised for Ludworth and Mellor Scouts at Wednesday's quiz, making a total of £142.50 over the two weeks.

The Higher and Lower Game wasn't won and the Jackpot will be back to £100 on Wednesday 12th May, when it is the monthly quiz for the Iron Bridge. As Peter and I will still be away on the Sponsored Walk, "Splodginess Abounds" will be standing in as quiz masters.

£84.50 was raised for Ludworth & Mellor Scouts at last week's quiz and the next one, on Wednesday 5th May, will be for the same cause.

The Higher and Lower game wasn't won, so the prize is beginning to build again.

An exciting Higher and Lower game saw the £100 jackpot won for the second week in a row! A new pot will have to start being built now.

The quiz raised £69 towards the Iron Bridge Restoration, plus £55 in sponsorship for our walk that was collected.

The next quiz on Wednesday 21st will be for Marie Curie again.
